Position Overview

The University of California, Davis, invites applications for the position of Research Scientist in the Department of Environmental Science. This is a full-time position focused on advancing research in environmental sustainability and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research on environmental issues, focusing on sustainability practices and their impact on ecosystems.
  • Design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and synthesize findings.
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners in interdisciplinary projects.
  • Prepare research proposals for funding and manage grants from various sources.
  • Publish and present research findings in academic journals and conferences.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in their research endeavors.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the academic community at UC Davis.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field.
  • Strong background in statistical analysis and proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., R, MATLAB).
  • Experience in designing and conducting field experiments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
